Margaret Johnson

Margaret Johnson obtained a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art and Sculpture at Goldsmith’s College, part of the London University. A postgraduate course at Exeter University followed in 1981.

After a long period in teaching in both schools and adult education she decided to develop her own ideas. A great deal of time has been spent painting in watercolours and over recent years she has explored the use of colour, texture and form with the translucency of glass with an unusual technique involving the use of straw silk fibre.

Her currant work involves using her combined techniques to produce tables and glass panels for the home. In 2006 she also put her technique on canvas, which has proved very successful. Each item is unique.
