Sasha Harding
Sasha was borne in Bath but was raised on the South coast of Dorset. One of seven children she was encouraged to paint from an early age and had her first exhibition at the age of fourteen with an older sister in the sitting room of their home.
She won an Art Scholarship to Marlborough College, which was followed by a Diploma and a Fine Art Degree.
Sasha’s influences include the Scottish colourist and the Newlyn artists, Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes. She works with a limited palette of three colours as well as white to simplify and unify her paintings. Composition and narrative are essential elements of her work, with figures usually included to create atmosphere.
Sasha now lives on the South coast of Cornwall, which she finds a stimulating place to work. She is constantly drawing from her surroundings and using the coastal environment as an inspiration for her work.
