Artwork of the Week, 03 October 2011

We are very excited to be launching a show of figurative paintings by Fletcher Sibthorp, one of the countries foremost figurative painters, on 14th October. Initially you will be able to view a selection on our website and in the gallery. On Friday 21st October we are hosting an evening event, with Fletcher Sibthorp attending and the full exhibition on show. You are invited to meet Fletcher in the gallery between 6.30pm and 9pm.

Fletcher Sibthorp says...

I was always interested in the human form and except for a few paintings have painted nothing but. To interpret weight, form, light and then the flow and line of the human form is the challenge. As a figurative painter I also like the way you are involving the viewer. You are asking them to interpret and add their own experiences to a painting."
