Rod Stewart Enjoys A Luxury Devon Break

Fans of Rod Stewart will know the star performed at Plymouth’s Home Park football ground earlier this week.

However, after the concert, during which he performed his greatest hits, the 71-year-old singer decided to have a few days’ break, enjoying the beautiful location on the southern English coast.

Stewart, who achieved his first number one album in 1978, stayed at the Salcombe Harbour Hotel and Spa, which overlooks the Salcombe estuary.

His wife Penny Lancaster posted a photo on Instagram of the rockstar relaxing on the hotel terrace in the warm sunshine, looking out over the water, the Torquay Herald Express reported.

The singer certainly got the best of the weather this week, with temperatures in South Devon in the mid to high-20s.

He is currently on a tour with his greatest hits, performing at eight outdoor venues all over the country. Stewart kicked it off with a performance in Norwich’s Carrow Road on Saturday (June 4th), followed by his Plymouth show on Tuesday.

After a few days relaxing and looking for things to do in South Devon, the singing sensation will take to the stage in Southampton’s The Ageas Bowl on Friday.

He will also perform at Cardiff’s City Stadium, Hull’s KC Stadium, Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park, Inverness’ The Tulloch Caledoniah Stadium and Carlisle’s Bruton Park over the next few weeks.

The tour will conclude on June 21st, when the father of eight will take a much-needed break from the stage.

Among the sights he could have taken in during his few days in Devon were the Mayne Gallery in Kingsbridge, one of the county’s leading galleries for its original and contemporary art.
