Linda Alexander began her career as a qualified architect, working with several award-winning practices where her exceptional graphic skills were used to create artwork and presentation drawings for national and international competitions. One such drawing was selected for exhibition at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; an early indication of her remarkable talent. After a series of successful exhibitions, Linda became a full-time professional artist in 2005. Her work has been shown widely in London, including at the Mall Galleries and she exhibited annually at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show between 2007 and 2018. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including Artist of the Year from Artist & Illustrators magazine, and in 2016 was elected a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Her paintings are now held in private collections around the world. Linda first became known for her striking large-scale botanical works, capturing the drama of strong sunlight on petals and foliage with extraordinary attention to structure and surface detail. In recent years, her focus has evolved towards still life. While the meticulous observation remains, her work has become quieter and more contemplative. Her intimate compositions explore balance, shadow and light, reflective surfaces, and the subtle dialogue between objects and the spaces around them. Often depicting just one or two carefully chosen forms, these beautifully resolved paintings offer a rare sense of stillness; a moment of calm reflection in an increasingly fast-paced world. You will find Linda’s collections with us on Stand C7 at the Battersea Affordable Art Fair. Email us for tickets.
