We are pleased to introduce Nao McDowell to Mayne Gallery’s stable of contemporary artists. The first collection is being launched at the Battersea Affordable Art Fair, 4-8 March. Visit us on Stand C7. For complimentary tickets please email us. Nao McDowell is a landscape artist based in London, whose work is deeply connected to the British countryside and coastline. Raised between the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, she developed an early love of nature through long walks and family holidays, often accompanied by the family’s Black Labrador. Summers spent in Bantham and Salcombe in South Devon left a lasting impression, and these coastal scenes continue to inspire her today. With a background in Ecology from the University of East Anglia and postgraduate art studies at Oxford Brookes University, Nao combines scientific insight with artistic intuition. Working from her London studio, she draws on plein air sketches and coastal photography to create large-scale oil paintings distinguished by vibrant colour, sculptural texture, and dynamic perspectives. Nao’s work captures the rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional pull of the natural world. She is currently launching new collections with Mayne Gallery in South Devon and Kendalls Fine Art in Cowes, Isle of Wight. Her paintings are available through the gallery—visitors are warmly encouraged to experience her work in person.
