Bartol Hervas was born in Alcoy, a city in Eastern Spain near the Mediterranean in 1954.
He is self-taught, faithful to his public and his art is a faithful exponent of naïve art in what the term has as a positive in terms of aesthetic expression; poise, good taste and inventiveness play a good part in his compositions.
The human figure are the main protagonists of his art. From the drawings made with them, he covers an endless number of different themes, playing with chromatic, innocent and relaxing themes, as well as occasionally drawing full of sarcasm and humour, adding a layer of depth to his artistic expression.
