After witnessing a beautiful barn owl hunting at dusk, gliding and hovering over the grasslands I felt moved to sculpt this majestic bird. I wanted to capture the barn owl coming into land and showing off its beautiful shaped wings, which it uses to hunt silently. Perched on a scored oak trunk this references the dark silhouette of the trees at night.
