We are so excited to introduce Lucy Young. We will be launching her first collection with Mayne Gallery on Saturday 20th May 2023. Save the date for this fabulous exhibition: 'Rising Light', featuring eight original paintings of our most-loved South Hams beaches with a view from above painted in acrylic on canvas.

Lucy is a British seascape artist capturing beaches from all over the world from an aerial perspective. Lucy’s highly recognisable style blends distinct oceanic shades across the canvas with great subtlety and skill and her play on light evokes a peaceful and idyllic perspective on coastal life with a strong sense of airy spaciousness.

Lucy’s career as a professional artist began only a few years after graduating when her contemporary take on seascapes became much sought after. This aided her to quickly become an established name in the art world selling through high calibre galleries here in the UK and also internationally.

Today Lucy is an independent professional artist living and painting in South West England.

"I always encourage my collectors to select paintings instinctively, you should choose artworks which you are drawn to intuitively, which make your heart skip a beat.

Then when placing the painting into your own home, it brings with it so much more than a piece of art, but a daily window to your heart."

Lucy's words on the latest collection 'Rising Light'

"The creation of Rising Light collection, has been an inspiring journey of love and appreciation of the grace and astonishing beauty of our little blue planet. Every piece has been painted with a strong connection to the sea with its ever changing light.  I have been rising with the dawn chorus to add finishing touches to the artworks, after an excited wake up knowing exactly what each painting ‘needs’ to be completed. South Hams rugged coastlines and enticing coves have inspired every piece in this collection, and I invite you as the viewer to see our world from above, with all its breathtaking awe and wonder."
